365 Days to Create! Creation 211/365

This bracelet is for Anne, another sister-in-law! I've always loved the rose bead that I attached to it. Since she is getting it, I'm OK with giving it up. ha ha

These beads are dark purple, the picture is a bit off. I made this bracelet for my sister-in-law Denise. I made 3 bracelets in all.

In my parents house, there is an apple chart inside one of the cabinet doors. It was always very interesting to open a door to the apples and know that someone I didn't know had put it there and used it.
I made a thin fabric covered board for one of our cupboards. It elicits that same feeling when I open it to find: so far, rice krispies recipe, egg poem, ribbon from D&E's bridal shower, and a blueberry print I found. The fabric is a cloth napkin I found in the tubs of fabric I got from Mat's Grandma.

Pastel sketch. The orange-red color has had an impact on me this past week, so I had to see how it looked on paper.

EvanYeti.com
A Web Comic about a Yeti named Evan.
This is a collaboration with Mat that we've been working on for a few months. He has done all of the artwork that you see. I've done all of the coding to make it work, and a few vector drawings in Flash. If you have any comments for Mat, send them to evan_yeti@yahoo.com

New Comic pages are posted every 2nd Monday, so check back often to follow the story!

UPDATE!

Thanks for checking out my art projects! As I've mentioned before, my goal (slightly modified from the original) is to create 365 things in one year. The creation year ends October 25, 2009. I'm also accumulating a lot of this stuff in boxes, so if you absolutely love something and it isn't hanging on my wall or already gifted - make me an offer (or a trade)!

I've also started taking a painting class (which I love.) I take a picture every week after the 3-hour session to track my progress, so I'll post a series later. It is in oil, a street scene at dusk from Nice, France.

Acrylic on canvas, 18x24
My new favorite painting.

I started this a few months ago after I took the picture at an awesome little pizza place (wheat crust from scratch!) that Emily and I go to before hiking. Turns out they painted it not long after I took the picture, so I'm really glad I whipped out my camera to get this awesome shade of blue. One of the bathrooms was painted yellow, hence the yellows pouring out of the open door.

Good memories.

Every year I paint the cottage at least once (this year twice.) This one leaves out the large oaks behind it to show more of the tall pines. This hardly does the pines justice - they tower over the cottage. I'm parting with this painting - it belongs to my Aunt & Uncle who invite us up every year!

Pastel pencil - another view of the lake looking off the dock. I'm really happy with this one, the detail level was exactly what I was shooting for.

This old barrel sits by the lake edge and we fill it with flowers every year. Kim filled it this year. The new fence on the neighbor's property is faint in the background here.

Breanna, who is 5, really enjoyed finding things for me to draw. This was her first pick - and so this is her's.

This is the view of the lake that I've drawn and painted many times before. It looks so different depending on the time of the day. This was mid-afternoon.

Acrylic on canvas, 11x14
This was almost entirely done with my palette knife.

If you go swimming in northern Michigan after midnight, this is what you see. Black and every single light in the cottages around the perimeter of the lake.

Mediums were never a question here. Sand dragons count! This was also another sand collaboration with Mat on the beach in Ludington, MI in June. We both did 1/2, split down the middle. In the past we've made many castles, a dog, and transformed a cousin into a mermaid!
